Comms Station or Ground Relay Station The primary function of the Comms Station (CS) or Ground Relay Station is to provide a digital two-way radio communications network that facilitates the transfer of information between Player Units (both Man Player Units and Vehicle Player Units) in the field and the central Exercise Control Computer (EXCON). Each Comms Station provides radio communications to and from vehicles and players fitted with the player units typically within a 15 km radius cell (the range can be greater or less depending on the type of terrain and density of foliage cover). The Comms Station is scalable, i.e., it can be deployed for training with exercises ranging from Section/Platoon level to Brigade level. For exercises involving larger coverage area, multiple Comms Stations can be interconnected over the microwave link, with one Comms Station acting as a gateway to the EXCON. |

The Mini Comms Station (MCS) is a smaller version of the Comms Station and is supplied in easy to carry transit cases with cables and accessories. The Mini Comms Station is typically used for company level exercises, sufficient for 180 players (Friendly: 120 men + 25 vehicles, Adversary: 30 men + 5 vehicles). If more capacity is required, two or more MCS can be used in parallel.
